Welcome and Thank You!
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to care for you during your healing process. I’m here to answer any questions you may have and to provide the utmost professionalism and dedication to your needs and concerns.
Understanding Your Healing Journey
Surgery is a unique experience for everyone, so it's important not to compare your progress to others. This isn’t a race. Give your body the time and space it needs to heal from surgical shock. It's common to question, "Why did I do this?" You may experience a range of emotions, including anger, doubt, and sadness—these are signs of post-operative depression, and they are completely normal. Your body is in shock, and it doesn’t differentiate between reconstructive or cosmetic surgery, a car accident, or childbirth. Its goal is survival and adapting to these drastic changes. A successful recovery requires mental, emotional, and physical readiness for what can be the most challenging part: the awakening.
Preparation and Care
I always recommend my clients thoroughly research the recovery phase to understand what to expect and what they’ll need for home care. I’m here to guide you, interpret what your body is communicating during our sessions, and provide you with personalized self-care tips. No two cases are ever the same. While 30% of your recovery is facilitated through my massages and lymphatic techniques, the remaining 70% depends entirely on you.
Wound Care and Healing
For the first month, expect to be a bit of a couch potato. Keep your wounds dry and covered with gauze and self-adhesive medical tape. Avoid using Neosporin or anything that might interfere with the natural healing of deep wounds. Airborne particles like debris are your worst enemies right now, so ensure all deep wounds are covered. Stay home, rest, walk, and keep hydrated. Only soap, water, and a gentle pat dry should be used on your wounds. Healing takes time—three full months to see complete results, especially for procedures like a BBL. Patience with your body is essential; listen to it because you are the best judge of its needs.
Will the Massage Hurt?
The answer is both yes and no. Sensitivity will vary based on how numb you are, and your body may react strongly even to light pressure. When fibroids are present, I’ll adjust the pressure as much as possible. If necessary, I’ll ask you to breathe deeply and count down from 3 to 1. My objective is to tailor the massage to your specific surgery, condition, or pain tolerance, aiming to prevent future complications like lymphedema, edema, pain, or fibroid development.
Congratulations on Your Journey
You've made a lifelong decision that will bring lasting changes, including adjustments to your diet and exercise routine. I’m here to support you every step of the way. If you encounter any emergencies—such as yellow pus, bright red blood from the incision site (which could indicate internal bleeding), loss of vision, loss of appetite, dizziness, or difficulty breathing—please contact 911 immediately.
